Don’t give this place a pass due to its apparently high pricing. The look and feel of Yum Yum Cha, Khan Market may seem casual and probably childish with colorful interiors and origami artworks, but that’s what Asian vibe is all about- friendly, fun and playful. But they do take their food seriously.
Those who have dined at Yum Yum Cha earlier know what I’m talking about. The new Khan Market outlet is small in size and you may have some privacy issues, but for those on the hunt for some kickass Sushi and Dimsums, the ones served here will surely satisfy your soul.
Their outstanding menu consists of the most unusual mix of Asian delicacies which are almost impossible to find anywhere else in Delhi. Apart from a unique variety of Sushi and Dimsums, they have open faced baos, rice noodle rolls, carpaccio, Japanese pizzas, hot pots, sizzling stone bowls and a plethora of other starters as well as main course dishes.
We tried some dishes recommended by the Chef and some following our own instinct. The dishes I would definitely recommend are Black Bean Prawn Dimsum, Chicken and Chilli Oil Dimsum, Crispy Cream Sushi Rolls, Crispy Corn Cake and Braised Pork Belly Wok. The meaty juicy delicious flavors were soul satisfying.
Even the vegetarian preparations didn’t fail to send me on a trip to heaven. The crispy corn cake was mouth watering and as your teeth dig into a really crunchy bite, they are greeted with a really soft, fluffy, silky center, with almost butter like consistency. They achieved similar perfection with Crispy Cream Sushi Rolls.
When I got to know they put cream cheese in this Sushi I knew this combination will be nothing less than electric, and it really was. Black Bean Prawns are not technically Dimsums as the prawns are served wrapped in spinach and this combination too, along with the black bean flavor worked like magic.
We even tried their unique Mochi Ice Cream that was wrapped in sticky rice flour, but I guess it will take some time to get used to that kind of texture. Their mocktails are kickass too. We recommend Thai Orange & Kaffir Lime and Watermelon & Mint.
