Hotel Taj Palace sure knows how to keep its inner circle members happy. This time they organized a Mixology Masterclass with the super talented Pankaj Kamble. For those who don’t know Pankaj Kamble, he has earned himself a name in the GGuinnessbook of World Records for Flair Mixology which consists of performing acts like juggling and manipulating bar tools and bottles in tricky and dazzling ways. It requires years of practice and immense hard work to perform such acts.
This time around Pankaj kamble was at Rick’s Bar at the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi where he not only showed him his extreme acts but also showed us that mixology is not as complicated as it sounds. At the end of the fun and interactive mixology session, where we got a chance to try our hand at making cocktails using bar tools, we learned at least ten types of classic cocktails.
The cocktails which I tried making were Cosmopolitan, Kamakazie, Mojito, Brave Bull, Tequilla Sunrise, Whisky Sour and Old Fashioned. Most of these classics required not more than three ingredients and the process of making it was much simpler than I thought. A great secret I learned about enjoying a cocktail is to add lots and lots of ice so that you enjoy it as it melts, slowly diluting the concoction, opening up the flavors and elevating its taste.
They should keep having such events in future also where you not only get to try food and drinks but actively get involved in creating them.
