It is that time of the year again. In this year’s Bow-Wow Festival, Fatty Bao has come up with an even bigger variety of lip smacking baos and some kickass cocktails that too at rock bottom prices.
Without a doubt I can say that no place in Delhi serves better baos.
We are sharing below a list of 5 Baos, which we found truly incredible, in order to save your precious time and to prevent you from confusion:
- Char Siu Bao
When we talk of Fatty Bao, this is the first bao that comes to mind. In fact this is the star bao of this place. The filling consists of three times cooked Imported Pork Belly that’s melt in the mouth, along with green apple kimchi, hoisin sauce, sesame oil and scallions. I consider hoisin sauce as the Asian variant of the barbeque sauce and it weaves its magic no matter which meat it is added to. Every ingredient of this bao complements the other ingredients and overall it’s a flavour bomb.
- Bao Slider with Crispy Beet Patty
These mini bao burgers are addictive and it’s hard to stop at one. Best part about this bao was that not only the flavour of beetroot is retained, but the patty is crisped to perfection. Another great ingredient used in this slider was Yuzu sauce. Yuzu is a Japanese citrus fruit and renders great sweet and sour flavour.
- Lamb Steak Bao
This is a new entry into their menu and I can bet it’ll prove to be a competition to Char Siu Bao. The lamb steak was done to perfection and was not chewy at all. The great flavour of lamb was complemented Hunan Mint sauce, topped with turnip kimchi and pickled fennel. This one was my favourite.
- Cheesy Kimchi Potato Bao
They have used potato very smartly here. Even the menu doesn’t talk about it much. Thinly shredded potatoes deep fried and tossed in Chinese sauces is what this bao will charm you with. Scallions and Korean Chilli powder add zest to the flavour. Have this bao in the end and you’ll go home fully satisfied.
- Bang Bang Chicken
Best part about this bao is that you are reminded of the indo Chinese style Hot Garlic chicken you are used to having since childhood. The tangy and saucy flavour will keep you wanting more. As if this wasn’t enough they provide extra zing by adding crushed peanuts, red chilli pickle and toasted sesame.
