What do you expect from a bar, especially if it’s in five star hotel? This was the first thing that came in my mind when I got invite for the relaunch of Cherry Bar at The Leela Convention Hotel. This hotel in terms of F&B has a lot to offer. With winters setting in, their Café Nosh which is all day dining, is going to have Sunday brunches in their al-fresco area. Dilli 32 without a doubt is the finest restaurant when it comes to Awadhi/Rampuri Cuisine. Meikun is another restaurant serving lip smacking pan Asian food.
Well, I had great expectations on food and cocktails. Executive Chef Rohit Tokhi had said that the focus of their bar is to serve cocktail with lot of local and seasonal ingredients to make interesting cocktails for guests. They are also serving classical cocktails along with a great wine list. Looking at the wine list, I feel that they should include couple of more Indian brands as well as Indian wines are getting better day by day.
While they have negroni as well as martini for those who do not like to experiment a lot with their cocktails, at the same time they also have some very interesting and refreshing cocktails. Breeze Bacardi and apple juice, strawberry gives sweet but very refreshing taste. Zingiber is gin, jasmine and cucumber and is another refreshing cocktail.
You can also try from their wide variety of imported wines. Food here is mostly finger food. After these refreshing drinks, you should try out their other restaurants. Cyrus Barucha and Kunal Vijaykar were present for the prelaunch and also actively participated in cocktail making with mixologist.
This place also has live band which sets the mood! Do check out Cherry Bar – you are surely going to love it!
