When I first heard about Ek bar in 2015, I was curious and the reason was Sujan Sarkar. He is also partner in Ek Bar and is the most accomplished chef of modern European cuisine in Delhi.

It’s been more than two years when I first met Sujan Sarkar at Olive and as we say, rest is history.

The transformation of Olive is much appreciated by everyone and is now been considered as one of the finest European place to dine in Delhi.

Ah but this post isn’t about Olive! This is about Sujan and his new venture Ek Bar. Though Ek bar is about to celebrate its first anniversary in couple of months from now, yet this place is as new and as intriguing as it can be! Well, I wouldn’t stop here when it comes to Sujan and that’s the complete charismatic effect his work has on me! J

Ek bar is the benchmark for all the bars that we have. Generally, whenever we talk about bar, we do not focus much on food. With drinks, the focus is hardly beyond, nachos, chilli chicken, chicken wings, fish fingers, mini burgers, sausages or rolls or local stuff for munching happily with the drinks!

DSC_9117_00018-tileWhen Ek Bar opened last year, it actually changed the way we look at bar and its food. Ek bar not only has some excellent artisanal cocktails but lot of their cocktails have Indian punch and some interesting story behind it.

Ek Bar would be amongst first bars in India where Brunch is being served. I would personally rate them as one the finest in Delhi/NCR. This is a place where you would love to sit, relax, enjoy your food with some outstanding cocktails. You will love to relax with like-minded people and share your food, stories and opinions in a warm, relaxed and unrushed atmosphere. For their Sunday brunch, they have specially created some new cocktails that are incredibly delicious and crafted with love.

I always believe that a great cocktail place will be incomplete without great food, and Ek Bar fits this picture perfect!  Not only are the cocktails great, but their food is too is very innovative.

They have recently launched their new menu and we were invited on a rainy Sunday to enjoy the brunch in the company of Sujan Sarkar.

DSC_9105_00006-tileMutton cutlet with minced meat stuffed, beef roll, prawn sausages were some of the notable dishes that I loved completely. Another speciality is their in-house dips and sausages that complements amazingly with the dishes.

Kataifi Wrap Chilli Paneer, kochi fried oysters, prawn cocktails and BBQ pork belly shouldn’t be missed. It’s good to see that Sujan spends ample time in reinventing these Indian dishes. With the magic of his interesting presentations, these innovative dishes are delicious too!

This time I tried ek bar kanji( ek bar’s take on traditional kanji with beetroot), phool bagan fizz( mogra infused gin) and the famous murraba mule and sher singh. These are some of their fabulous cocktails.

They also have got some new dessert. Manglorean banana cake and Auroville Chocolate Brownie will make you drool and you will absolutely love the famous mango fluffy stuff which is inspired from haji ali mango shake. None of these should be missed!

As I have always reiterated that Ek Bar is a place to chill, relax, enjoy great cocktails as well as lip smacking food – This place will never disappoint you!
