Is CP the next Sarojni in the making?

Agenda – Simple, no fuss, just wanted to grab some beer and chill out with friends

Places – Nothing specific in our mind.

Result – you have to read the whole story.

One fine day, couple of us decided to have beer in CP. As I had my work in CP, we decided to meet at CP in the evening. We met at around 5:30 PM, however it took us long to find the right place! I am very sure you would love the story.

We were very close to Unplugged Courtyard and hence decided to unwind ourselves at that place. It wasn’t a busy place and we were hoping to have a good time. The ground floor was completely empty and on the top roof, couple of tables were occupied. We decided to place ourselves at ground floor. After 5 min a server came and shared that the table was reserved. We shared that there wasn’t any “reserved” placard. He immediately kept the reserved placard and insisted that it is reserved. It was very rude and we weren’t in any mood to argue and hence decided to leave.

Next,  we went to Odean Social. At the entrance,  server noted our contact details and sent us upstairs. The moment we sat, a server came and shared that is place is reserved for a party at 8:00 PM and we would need to vacate the place by then. It was already 7:30 PM. We added that no one shared this with us when we gave our contact details. However there wasn’t any point in arguing and we immediately decided to leave.

We then moved to HotMess. We had heard a lot about the place and their specialty food. The moment we entered, it felt like entering a cave as the lights were dimmed and music was extremely loud. We were hardly able to see and decided that this wouldn’t be the place for us.

Next on the line was 38 barracks, then café dalal street and house of commons. There were servers standing outside the restaurants and was literally forcing people to come to their place. The offer was discounts at booze and I felt I was I am in the middle lane of Sarojni nagar market where every street hawker was selling shots for 200 bucks.

I started wondering what has happened to CP that mushroomed cafes over the last couple of years!

None of them was a decent place, where people can sit and talk. Servers too were highly unprofessional and unskilled. These places do need to train their employees in how to deal customers.

By the time we left, we weren’t in great mood and thought that we should have gone to either Farzi or may be at Grappa, Shangri-La.

After our unpleasant experience, I am pretty sure,  that I might not go to CP very soon. I will be extremely cautious on the place that I enter, incase CP becomes my destination again!.

I wonder, is it so difficult to find a place in CP where we can just some beer, chitchat, chill, have fun and unwind!!
