“The traveller sees what he sees. The tourist sees what he has come to see.” ~ G.K. Chesterton ~
What is your idea of an ideal holiday? I have couple of them – Spending weekend with family at a good hotel, relaxing at the pool side, early morning strolling in a lush green, huge garden, dining at al-fresco environment – and with each, I get a sense of fulfilment as well as complete relaxation. Does it sound fun/interesting and relaxing to you too? What if you would want all of it in a combined package? If this sounds like your holiday plan, then I would suggest you to head straight to Agra, home of Seven Wonders of the World, Taj Mahal. Spend your weekend here at Courtyard by Marriott. A truly international hotel, huge property and it doesn’t resemble a business hotel, however more like a resort! And not to forget Courtyard is perhaps the only hotel that has maximum number of suites (junior as well as Executive). We stayed in one of the suites and the rooms here are absolutely wonderful.
As you enter the hotel, on your left is the Momo 2 Go, a deli where you will get some outstanding bakery products and amazing gourmet cakes and pastries too. Baking is one of the niche deliverable that defines Marriott’s F&B and this is consistent across Marriott Hotels.
Next is the ONYX bar – just before the Momo Café, where you can have some amazing cocktails. We tried different flavours of Mojito and they were outstanding.
Momo Café as the name says is their all day dining restaurant and I have been told that they have the largest buffet spread in town. I was impressed with the food that I tried Apart from their buffet I also got chance to try some of their dishes which will be part of their soon to open indian speciality restaurant. Yes you heard it right! Soon, they are going to open “Anise” which will be their new Indian speciality restaurant. It has amazing view, an all open restaurant with live kitchen and with some great live performances.
Don’t forget to pamper yourself with their spa. Unora Spa – A luxury spa brand from Tattva. Unora (Italian for ‘my hour’) is an hour stolen out of the bustle of city life, for a rejuvenating rendezous with yourself. Unora puts you back in touch with your remotest senses and perceptions.
We had a full body massage with pressures at the right points, followed by steam bath. The oil used penetrates deep within the skin’s surface, drenching your skin in moisture that results in dewy, luminous skin. Massages are tailored to specific areas of need. The massage stretched and calmed the tensed muscles. Body treatments give attention to hard to reach areas like the back. Their spa centre offers an unmatched array of treatment and rejuvenation programmes designed to renew, rejuvenate and replenish the soul. The perfection of nature combined with the spirituality of ancient India as well as Swedish therapies creates synergy in your body. The oil massage is a celebration in itself that includes elements of acupressure to. These oils effectively bind and remove toxins from the cells. It stimulates smooth muscle veins, draining lymphatic and metabolism in the skin. We were treated to a moment of pure well-being with this 60 minute massage.
One of the most important aspect of this hotel is their special attention towards kids. Be it the special kid’s menu, Signature kid’s room – everything ensures that kids too have a great time at hotel. Be it playstation, table tennis, foosball, snooker and slides for toddlers too
We had great time at Courtyard Agra. A perfect destination for your weekend. Now with the Agra should ideally be a great weekend destination for Delhi folks.
With Taj Mahal just 5 min away from the hotel, this is the perfect destination to chill and relax and ideal for honeymoon couples too. After all Taj Mahal, remains and continues to be the biggest symbol of love and what a perfect combination of this destination along with stay at Courtyard by Marriott!
