After a hearty breakfast, we continued the heritage package of Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan by heading to Bhimashankar. It has a Shiva Temple which is one of the Jyotirlingas. The temple itself has fine carvings. After darshan we proceeded ahead to the sanctuary which is home to the Indian giant squirrel. We got to see one which had lovely orange brown fur with a long bushy tail. In size it is almost like a red panda. I would recommend wearing proper walking shoes as the nature trail path is uneven and strewn with rocks. We also saw karvi whose flowers bloom once in seven years and the origin of the River Bhima.

Once back at the hotel, we ordered some snacks from MoMo 2 You which is the in- room dining option as we were feeling too cosy to leave our luxurious room. Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan is celebrating M Day or Marriott Day, a Marriott India initiative and we got a scrumptious opera pastry as part of it.

Late evening we explored the hotel. While the Executive Lounge is accessible to Marriott Reward guests, the fitness centre is open round the clock for all guests. The gaming zone offers chess, table tennis, carom and has a foosball table. Banqueting areas include Otto, Lenoir, a ballroom called Rivaz with an attached lush lawn for weddings and an Executive Boardroom. The hotel also has an in-house ATM and a business centre. Apart from Deluxe Rooms, Suites are the other accommodation option. MoMo 2 Go offers bakery items, sandwiches, coffee and milkshakes if you are in a hurry to head out.

Feeling famished, we headed for dinner to MoMo Café. Our buffet was a delicious spread of Indian, Asian and Continental cuisines catering to all nationalities. The chefs can also prepare your preference cuisine on request. The next morning after our pampered stay, appetizing food and the interesting heritage experience, even while checking out we were already making plans to visit again.
