At check in at Double Tree by Hilton Pune-Chinchwad, I was given a warm welcome, quite literally in the form of a warm freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. It was delicious. While sitting in the lobby area before heading to my room, a brightly coloured edible chocolate egg caught my eye. It was part of Tarta, the bakery and confectionery. Breads, cakes including designer cakes, pastries, chocolate art, cookies, chocolates and macaroons on request are part of Tarta’s selection.
The lobby also has 3 Spices, the all day dining restaurant which offers a decadent buffet and la carte menu of Indian, Asian and Continental cuisines for lunch and dinner while breakfast is lavish and wholesome. 3 Spices also offers a bar menu. Al fresco is its outdoor area with its own separate buffet. It makes for a good venue for get to gethers.
The 115 rooms and suites of Double Tree include twin rooms, queen guest rooms, king executive rooms, king executive suites and an uber luxurious presidential suite. Spacious, good natural lighting, a one call number for all your requirements in the form of careline and all state of the art amenities are available. Additionally, guests of the executive rooms and suites and presidential suite have access to the executive lounge- a cozy place to enjoy a breakfast, evening snacks and spirits at happy hours, catch up on work and relax. The executive lounge also has two attached meeting rooms. Banquet options include Viharas and Food Studio. I liked the creative décor of Food Studio with elegant pots and pans. Conferences are regularly organized at Viharas.
The gorgeous swimming pool, Sunday brunch, fitness centre with equipment by precor, a yoga and aerobics room with boxing provision, Aristo spa, salon and sightseeing arrangements make DoubleTree by Hilton Pune-Chinchwad a hit not just with business guests but families travelling to Pune as well.
At Aristo Spa, I chose the 50 minutes Deep Tissue Massage. It started with a warm up which was done by applying pressure on my legs and progressing to my back. The relaxation oil, leg and arm stretches, firm strokes including kneading, zig zag, cupping and gliding did wonders for my body and mind. As strong pressure is applied, soreness of the muscles is relieved. I highly recommend this massage at Double Tree by Hilton for balancing your mind, energizing yourself and relieving tight muscles.
For dinner, I headed to Level 12 which serves north Indian frontier cuisine. A twinkling skyline, the glowing pool, a cool breeze and superb music gave me company. If the venue is superb the food is to die for. Innovative and delicious starters like the vegetarian waterless golgappa, corn cheese kurkuri and cheese mushroom tikkas while the non vegetarian kastoori kebab, malai drums of heaven and highway chicken tikka are delectable. The signature dish 12 ki dal was smoky and rich accompanied with the Amritsari kulcha- all makkhan mar ke. End the meal with a creamy Jalandar ki special kulfi. Level 12 also serves alcohol.
The next day I was eagerly waiting for my lunch at Miyuki. Pune has very limited fine dining restaurants offering Japanese food. Miyuki thankfully satiates my craving for authentic and traditional Japanese cuisine. The live teppanyaki grill is an absolute delight to watch as the chef skillfully dishes out chicken teriyaki and tofu steak. Don’t miss relishing the prawn tempura, nasu dengaku, avocado roll and California roll.
