Mitti Ki Khusboo – Sunday Brunch at K3, JW Marriott, Aerocity – Brings Childhood Memories – When Our Grandmoms Cooked Food in Earthen Pots.

It’s been two years when I first went to JW Marriott, Aerocity and since then it has been one of my favourite Hotels in Delhi. K3 their all day dinning, I will not call it coffee shop, because it has the capability to run three specialty restaurants. Dehalvi that serves Indian cuisine is perhaps one of the best in town. The Tuscan serves food from Tuscan region of Italy and has absolutely meaty section and ofcourse not to forget their Cantonese, which is probably the only one in town that serves duck in their buffet. Marriott’s strength is in its bakery and DBC here is no less. The dessert section of K3 is the biggest in city without any doubt.

Palak aur Lehsun

The smoky flavor and the aroma of earthiness made each dish rustic and delicious. The traditional style of cooking that was time consuming and we have forgotten in the fast moving world, and yet we yearn for the same. Thirki dal, matka murg, sundhe masala ka jhinga, aloo ka salan and palak aur lehsun, Kunde ka dum  gosht – Each dish was interesting. Also we loved their vegetarian dishes more, even though the non-vegetarian dishes were as interesting as it should be! You shouldn’t miss this promotion – You would fall in love with each bite that you partake!

Well, last but not least their indian cocktail bar which is also part of the promotion – Has interesting concoctions!. The imly sour, a typical whisky sour has the flavour of imli (tamarind) which not only makes the drink tangy but also refreshing. A must try. Next is benaras where vodka is infused with betel leaf.

Besides the divine taste, food cooked in these pots locks the steam and vapour that retains all the nutrients of the food. All the dishes cooked in “mitti pots” ensure that each dish is cooked perfectly and is full of flavours! Not just that the earthy taste and aroma is heavenly!
