It was a clean sweep – Simple, no fuss, homely, delicious and very authentic – This is how I will sum up my experience of La-Piazza’s new menu, where I also got the chance to meet their chefs – Executive chef Ivan and Executive Sous Chef Alessandro.
Well this should have been at the end of my post, however I wanted to give you a very quick synopsis before sharing the details. This will encourage you to visit La Piazza and also prompt you to read my entire post J
La Piazza at Hyatt New Delhi has gained the cult status over the years and they have seen many regular patrons here. I have been one of them and an admirer of La Piazza for its authentic Italian cuisine that gets served. Also this restaurant has perhaps one of the most extensive wine lists in the city.
With such amazing deliverables, it gets all the more difficult to live up to the expectations. However La Piazza not just delivers to high expectations, they also have managed to be consistent all the time!
Newly appointed Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Delhi Ivan Chieregatti, brings with him more than 20 years of rich experience of culinary & cultures while Executive Sous Chef Alessandro Sandrolini has been associated with Hyatt since 2005 and his amiable and lively services has been a delightful insight into the world of Italian fine dining.
Whenever change of guard happen, it always brings in new and fresh perspective to the system. The duo Chefs did exactly the same. They introduced simple yet presentable, not cumbersome yet delicious and straight from the heart that brings back, memory of simple yet delicious Italian food.
In the new menu you will find simple and fresh green salad with simple dressing which is full of freshness and deliciousness. Watermelon with feta cheese was absolutely delicious and everyone loved it. Adding slices of orange was excellent idea as it gave little tangy taste to the salad.
The pasta and risotto were very fresh and not overloaded with cheese and cream – very light and refreshing.
I loved the main course too. Grilled salmon, grilled and sliced tenderloin, saffron semolina cake and grilled assorted vegetables (both are for vegetarians) were absolutely delicious.
Even though I am not a dessert fan, but their soufflé, panna cotta and mousse were delights to the palate.
If you love simple, flavourful Italian food then La Piazza should be your destination.
