Getting my 6 year old niece to drink milk was a herculean task. My sister would chase her all around the house, the glass of milk in her hand coaxing her to drink. This scenario of mothers getting stressed out when it comes to their kids’ not consuming milk is common all over India. In our case, we have got my niece not just to drink milk but to enjoy it once we started giving her Sipahh. Sipahh is a brand of Milk Flavouring Straws. All kids have to do is dip the straw and sip.
Kids of any age can have these straws, so long as they are able to suck from it. The pack recommends 3 years and above. The straws are designed to be best enjoyed with cold milk, however you can also have them with room temperature/ luke warm milk. Each straw is separately packed and has two filters on either end. The specific flavoured UniBeads inside the straw when sucked with milk give it a delicious flavor.
What I particularly liked is that parents can choose the pack size which comes with different flavors in each pack so kids are not bored of drinking the same flavor till the pack is finished. Sipahh has a total of 12 flavours. The 5, 10 and 25 pack of straws carry a total of 5 flavours including Chilled Out Choc Bean, Luscious Strawberry, Banana Smoothie, Cookies & Cream and Choc Mint. The 40 pack carries 8 flavours, and the 50 pack carries 10 flavours including Fruit Salad Swirl, Raspberry Fields, Hello Marshmallow, Lamington Dream and Okey- Dokey Cookies and Cream which are not just yummy but nutritious as well.
Sipahh scores over other milk flavouring additives in terms of its tasty and innovative flavours which appeal to kids making drinking milk no longer a chore but a fun activity. Another benefit is with Sipahh, kids can enjoy more milk and less sugar everyday. With no artificial flavours, colours, and preservatives and with less than 2g of sugar per straw, the straws are a much healthier option for kids to enjoy the goodness of milk. Most milk flavouring drinks or additives are extremely high in sugar, 3 times or even higher per serve in comparison to Sipahh.
The brand which started distribution in India from March 2015 seems to be quite a hit with kids. It is currently available across Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Cochin and Goa among other top cities. Sipahh can also be bought from modern retail stores like Godrej Nature’s Basket, SPAR, Hypercity and Food Hall. For those who order online, Sipahh is also available on Amazon.in and Big Basket- just look for Sipahh. Hoping like my niece, as we usher in the New Year, your kids will also enjoy the goodness of milk as part of a balanced diet with less sugar and no artificial colours or preservatives with Sipahh.
